“What was 40 is now 51-50” - by Anonymous Frau Redux

You ask a goddess to soar away-
as if on a dreamy drive,
have girl feet pound fast,
use all apparatus.
I go see thousands of lather smooth rock-
when some do sleep.
How I am delirious for rusty fluff-
hot lazy sun with gorgeously languid sea-
enormous purple red sky above me-
though no moon rose-
you could worship at diamond smear’d sky.
She let her hair blow about-
the luscious juice urges me-
to rip, chant, boil, heave.
Recalling the spring petal ad-
rusting of mean rain-
how the language is-
chocolately egg, puppy drool, like milk, dress, sausage.
Sad whisper not scream over womanly ache-
of the frantic storm or ugly trudge-
in a sordid garden.
Her head is put cooler from saying it-
to moan and wax with those who are my blood-
but is not by my mothers meat.
What she said after,
“These lake girls though,
they rock,
watch us swim please?”

Inspired by a recent trip (delayed far too long by world and personal events) with vintage friends. Used most of the vocabulary list supplied and some in an abstract manner where rusty fluff means the rich yarn acquired from a specialty shop. You get me, right? Used the - to indicate line break for rhythm where punctuation was not indicated to end a phrase.

by Heart of Darkness

Frantic for the fluff dream
His.
His and her.
Urges to please
Or not. No means at all
Let on. Worship some girl
After all, see the ugly

“Waves of Words . . . and Other Words” - by Journal Kurtz

Next Week’s Assignment:

POV Sketches: 3 Moments in Time
Three times this week (most likely in three different places), stop what you’re doing and sketch the scene in front of you. Sketch with whatever you’ve got on whatever you’ve got - a napkin, a journal, whatever. Sketch as thoroughly and detailed or as quickly and “sketchy” as you like. Submit your three sketches, labeled with the date, time, and location where you were. Bonus points if you find some common theme among the three.

(We’re all busy, so if you don’t have time to sketch in the moment, that’s fine. You could take a photo to sketch from later or just do it from memory if you have to. Ideally, you’ll sketch “in situ,” but I’m a realist, so no worries if that’s too much!)

Due September 22 by 7:00 p.m.
