Still Life: May 16-23 2024
Set up a still life arrangement of inanimate objects of your choice. Take a photo of your arrangement to show us what it looked like, then create your own still life artwork, rendering that arrangement in whatever medium you prefer (paint, sketch, collage, etc.)
Due May 23 by 7:00 p.m.

“Stilled Life in a Classroom” - by Journal Kurtz
This was one of those prompts that where the delight of the process took me by surprise. That’s a wonderful Artpocalypse side-effect.
I enjoyed arranging the objects, thinking about the differing shapes and textures of each item, playing off what is often found in “real” still life paintings (flora, fauna, symbolism, etc.).
The sketching? Not so much, but by then, lunch break was over anyway.

Memorial Day falls this week. Create your own memorial to someone or something. It does not have to (but can, if you wish) have anything to do with the military - it can be anything you wish to commemorate, in any artistic medium you like.
