Homemade Pigment: February 8-15, 2024
Make your own pigment out of natural ingredients. Use it to draw, write, or paint something.
Due February 15 by 7:00 p.m.
The Submissions:
by Captain Quillard
Boiled down shallot skins (leftover from soup-making) and grapes to make two pigments.
Tried to thicken shallot pigment a bit, but didn’t have cornstarch - only cornmeal - which just made it gritty.
Attempted to paint a watercolor lake and mountain scene. I don’t hate it.
Next Week’s Assignment:
In honor of Presidents Day, create your own Mount Rushmore. Using whatever medium you like, pick four people meaningful to you and deserving of the honor of being commemorated in granite for eternity, and draw/sculpt/carve/write/paint them into history.
